Sickle Cell and Living Well

This blog is intended to help people of all ages cope with many of the challenges that come with Sickle Cell Disease. When first launched, my target audience was teens and parents. Over the years, however, the scope of my content has expanded to help people of all ages who may struggle with similar complications as I. Whether you’re reading this for yourself or to help a loved one cope with Sickle Cell, I believe there is something here for everybody affected by this disease and other illnesses.

Ink Sketches

Most of my art has been done with pencil. I've used ink, oil pastels, and watercolor pencil just a little bit. The past couples months I've become excited to experiment with pen. So what follows below are sketches done with ink pens of various types and sizes.

Artists.pixelovely.com & Quickposes.com are websites that allow you to do timed exercises. You can set a timer for two minutes, for example, and at the end of two minutes, another picture will appear on the screen. So what you see at the bottom of the above picture are timed two minute sketches.

This was drawn with a copic drawing pen that is sepia colored. I drew it over the course of about an hour and a half.

I'm trying to learn how to draw different textures with pen. So I drew these boxes with different textures.
